Road directions
From the A47 Guyhirn roundabout:
Take the A141 (signposted March) for about 5 miles before the road crosses over the March - Peterborough line on a concrete bridge. Take the B1099 off the roundabout immediately over the bridge (second exit), Norwood Road is on the left hand side, seventh turn off (housing estates included) on the left with a newsagents on the junction. Over the level crossing, take the first right to keep on Norwood Road. The footpath leading to the bridge is about 200m along this road on the right.

If, however, you miss the turning for Norwood Road, continue into the town centre to find the traffic light controlled junction with the B1101 and the bandstand on the right. Go straight over, follow the road round to the railway station, over the crossing and turn left at the double roundabout - you’re now on Norwood Road and the footpath will found about 750 meters down here, after crossing the bridge on the throat of March Yard.

From Ely:
Take the A142 to Chatteris, and follow the A141 (signposted March) until reaching the southern end of the town. The B1101 will take you into the town centre. Follow the road over the river to where the lanes divide on approach to the traffic light controlled junction with the B1099, with the town bandstand as the centrepiece. Turn right at this junction and follow the road round to the railway station, over the crossing and turn left at the double roundabout – you’re now on Norwood Road. The footpath leading to the bridge is about 200m along this road on the right.

Photographic notes
The bridge is located on a gentle curve coming out of March Station. Light is best until about 4pm in summer, when it comes onto the nose of the trains. A good shot is available going in either direction, including trains coming of the west curve of Whitemoor. The best shot is available from the inside of the curve.
The bridge also acts as a good frame for photos taken from the bottom.
