From the A82 roundabout follow the signs to Dumbarton down the Bonhilll Road. At the next roundabout take the third exit (A814 Glasgow Road) and after you cross the river Dalreoch Station is on your right.
There is a car park at the station.
4 trains an hour from Glasgow Queen Street low level.
The station has no toilets.
The station lies roughly south-east - north-west, with the Balloch line swinging round to the north and the Helensburgh line swinging round to the west. You need to move around a bit to be able to photograph everything. For arrivals from Glasgow, the east end of platform 1 gives a good vantage over to the Leven Viaduct although you really need a zoom lens. For trains coming on or off the Helensburgh line, platform 1 is best, and for trains heading on to or coming off the Balloch branch you need to be on platform 2. Evenings should probably be avoided as the station is in a bit of a cutting, with high foliage on both sides of the line which cast long shadows when the sun is low in the sky.
