From A34 Junction with the A4130 west of Didcot, take the A4130 signposted Steventon. Take the first right at the set of traffic lights and take the road across the railway bridge. Once in the village take the second left and follow this road to the line.
Parking is a small problem however a small car park is availible in the village.
A bus from Didcot is available.
There is a cafe in Steventon in the high street. The North Star pub is close to both crossings.
The light and visibility are very good, photography and filming are ideal.
The level crossing nature of the location allows close viewing (within 1.5 metres from the line ) with the line speed being typically 125 mph which makes excellent viewing of class 43s at their maximum speed with the characteristic scream noise greatly apparent. Frequency on the line is high with around 5 trains each way per hour off peak. This makes viewing here exciting and unique but number taking can be difficult due to the speed of the trains. The level crossing offering the best visibility in both directions is the western most crossing. However the road is slightly busier than on the former, though parking is easier.
