From Chesterfield take the A619 to Staveley after Ringwood Hall look for the brown tourist signs on the left and follow road signs.
Car parking inside the shed yard area, on special days the location has extra field parking.
Stagecoach in Chesterfield operate route 90 past Barrow Hill Roundhouse every 30 minutes on a Monday - Saturday and hourly on a Sunday. Its best to get the bus from either New Beetwell Street or Cavendish Street (about 10 minutes walk from Chesterfield rail station).
On special days there is often a shuttle bus service from Chesterfield.
There are toilets and a cafe on site.

The lighting inside can be a little dim but when the locos are in steam very atmospheric.
The coaling stage is a good vantage point for stills and video.
