Pulborough is on the main A29 road running though to Bognor Regis (Pulborough postcode is RH20). The station is clearly marked at the mini-roundabout with the A283 Worthing - Petworth Road.

The station obviously has a car park which, perhaps surprisingly for a town with a large number of commuters, is not always full. Normal prices apply. You could also put your car in one of the quiet housing estates next to the station during the day.

The station has direct trains to London, via East Croydon and Crawley, as well as Portsmouth Harbour, Bognor and Littlehampton. The number 1 bus (Worthing to Midhurst) - operated by stagecoach - drops directly outside the station.

The station is manned, and does have toilets. A cursory glance into the booking office reveals a number of railway photographs from the 1980's - one of them is an enthusiast! So you should not have any staff issues.
Tesco is about 1/2 a mile up the road, on the main A29 going north, and Sainsbury's is about 1/2 further on. The chippy is more or less next to the station - it is passable - as is the kebab joint next door.
For something a little more palatable there is the Swan a little further into town, about five minutes walk and if you go the other way - travel west towards Petworth (by car about two minutes) you will find the White Hart at Stopham Bridge.

There are a number of Bed and Breakfasts around the area, as well as the Chequers Hotel, if you are feeling rich!

South East Gen

The tracks run north to south, so it is pretty good light all day in the summer. It is exposed, being situated on a hill by the Arun Valley, so can be chilly in the winter.
From the south the line runs straight for about half a mile, so you get plenty of notice of arrivals. From the north you have a fairly sharp curve, but the station announcements give you plenty of warning.
The huge bonus are the semaphore signals and the signal box (situated on the north side) which is still in operation.
The road is a little way off so traffic noise is minimal, however there is a light industrial estate next door, so you may get the occasional lorry passing. You may also hear the odd 'moo' from the nearby fields!
For those with video cameras, go up to the signal box end of the platform and listen to those fabulous bells.
