From Huntingdon, follow signs to the A1 (London).
Head down the A1 until you see a turning to Buckden. If you miss it, don`t worry as you will soon come to a roundabout at which you can can take the first exit which takes you into Buckden also. From Buckden, head east to Offord Cluny. You will cross the river via a series of narrow bridges before reaching the level crossing. On the opposite side of the level crossing, and on the right hand side you should notice a little gateway. Follow this footpath through the churchyard, and you should notice that it leads to the railway. This is the location.
Park by the signal box just after the level crossing taking care not to block the gates on the left. If you are unable to park here, you can park in the high street.
You can always try 'The Swan' in the village itself. There is also a cafe/bar at the nearby Buckden marina. There are several other shops and a major petrol station in Buckden too.
The line runs almost North-South here, which poses the usual problems. Photo`s of northbound trains are better taken earlier in the morning, although shots of southbound workings can be had all day and from both sides of the line.
I was told of a spot along the riverbank at Offord Cluny. After finding the spot (the directions where correct, and it's a long walk), I found that the vegetation had grown up too much on both the river bank, and next to the line to get any, what I call, decent shots.
I just hope this saves someone the bother of the walk (although it's a nice walk, just with little reward at the end)
Here's where I'm talking about.
