Road directions
From Huntingdon, follow signs to the A1 (London).
Head down the A1 until you see a turning to Buckden. If you miss it, do not worry as you will soon come to a roundabout at which you can can take the first exit which takes you into Buckden also. From Buckden, head east to Offord Cluny. You will cross the river via a series of narrow bridges before reaching the level crossing which you need to cross. At the Road junction, turn right, and follow the road through Offord D`Arcy. Shortly after leaving the village, you will notice Bullens farm on your left. Almost immediately opposite this is a track which leads to the footpath.
Parking
You will need to park off the road. The best place for this is on the right hand side before the farm as the verges are quite level here and are kept short through frequent maintenance.
Amenities
You can always try 'The Swan' in Offord Cluney. There is also a cafe/bar at the nearby Buckden marina. There are several other shops and a major petrol station in Buckden too.
If you continue a few miles further south, you will arrive at St. Neots which offers many shops etc.

Photographic notes
From the old farm crossing itself, shots can be had in both directions, although steps are recommended to elevate above the palisade fencing.
Shots of southbound workings on the slow line can be ruled out as can be seen in figure 2 below, although with a telephoto lens, workings on the fast line can be captured as figure 3 illustrates.
Shots can also be had from further up and down the line, but line side vegetation makes the old crossing itself the best location here.
