Road directions
From the M1, Junction 15:
Take the A508 to Roade. From here, take the local road to Hartwell. Once you reach Hartwell, bear right, and follow the main road to Long Street/Hanslope. As you pass through Long Street, take a right hanbd turn down Higham Cross road, and follow this winding road to the railway.

Update. At Higham Cross where the 'main' road bears right the signs (put up by the local farmer?) suggests that the lane down to the bridge is not a public right of way for motor traffic. I parked on the grass opposite the cottages (there is plenty of room) and walked. I did not see anyone to ask but there are a number of cottages and upmarket barn conversions on this lane who clearly have access.
Parking
You can park on the left hand side after crossing the bridge.
Amenities
There is a selection of pubs in Hanslope and the surrounding area.

Photographic notes
This location is best for southbound workings from lunchtime until late afternoon. Shots of northbound workings can be had later on in the day, but the shot is not what it used to be.
The southbound view is rather spoilt by the new signal bridge and the posts (carrying lights?) Network Rail have erected alonside the junction points. A walk over the bridge along the track which bcurves left then right offers a nice wide angle view of northbounds from early afternoon.
