Road directions
From Bedford:
Head south on B530 for about five miles until you see a minor road signposted 'Millbrook' on the right; turn right and the location is about a mile beyond.

From the east:
Take the A507; a mile or so west of Ampthill, take a minor road signposted 'Millbrook' at a crossroads; drive through the village and turn right at the T junction at the end of the village. The bridge is about 1/2 mile beyond.

From the M1, junction 12:
Follow the A5120 north and then take A507 east towards Ampthill, then turn left at the crossroads mentioned above towards Millbrook.

Parking
Some car parking space by the side of the road, which is fairly quiet. It is an open, rural area so no problems likely.
Public transport
The nearest station is Millbrook (Bletchley-Bedford line). It is a mile or so walk along footpaths from there. There are very few buses to Millbrook itself, but Ampthill is served by frequent buses from Bedford and Flitwick (Stagecoach) and is about a 1 1/2 mile walk from the location.
Amenities
None in the area. There is very little in Millbrook, but nearby Ampthill has a reasonable range of shops and pubs.
Accommodation
There are a number of hotels in Bedford and Milton Keynes.
Photographic notes
This is a good location for morning trains; foliage and the angle of the road make afternoon photography well-nigh impossible. Good views can be had of up trains; those of down are a bit head-on (especially on the slow line). Electrification equipment is not too intrusive. The roads is fairly quiet, so video should be possible but for video, I would recommend heading north a few hundred yards, where you can get quite a reasonable broadside view with the line on an embankment.
