As well as a small shop selling snacks Goathland village (aka Heartbeats - Aidensfield) is just outside the station, there is plenty of shops and newsagents. To cater for the tourists.
There are a number of locations on and around the station. The best know being from the bridge at the south end of the station.
The north end of the platform affords a superb view of the line as it climbs up out of the 1 in 49 grade from Beck Hole and Darnholm.
