Location notes
January 2015:
Copmanthorpe Crossing has been closed permanently and is now just an access point for Network Rail. Some shots are possible from the south side but its far from easy and nowhere near as good as it once was.
Moor Lane where the line side shots could be taken now has a large green fence alongside it.

About 7 miles south of York on the East Coast Main Line, just to the north of Colton Junction
Railway type and traffic
A variety of passenger and freight services pass through this location. Usually Virgin East Coast/Cross Country and a fair variety of freight.

Road directions
From the A64
Turn off at the junction with the A1237 which is signposted for Copmanthorpe and follow the signs into the village following the main road through.; Cross the railway by the (only) road over bridge and take the first right (almost turning back on yourself). Follow the lane parallel with the railway (heading SW) and follow into a rough track which leads away to the left from the railway. From this track take the first track to the right and this ends at an accommodation crossing.
