Road directions
From M4, Junction 23a:
At the roundabout, take the exit toward Magor/Magwyr/Caldicot/B4245 and head south. Take the firstleft and drop down to the B4252 roundabout. Turn left, 1st exit, and go back under the road. Take the second left on this road past some farm buildings and follow the windy road south to the location.
Parking
There is parking available on either side of the line. If crossing the line, remember you have to use the 5.6 ft underpass as the gates are only unlocked for busses and large vehicles.
Public transport
Veolia Transport Cymru bus, service 61, will take you to Newport, and runs on a roughly 2 hour frequency.

Photographic notes
You are just west of Biston Flyover/Llandevenny. The advantage of this location is that the relief lines are now paired together, and freight traffic is travelling relatively slow at this point. Trains coming from the Newport direction can be seen from a long way away, and you have plenty of warning. Unfortunately trains from Seven Tunnel Junction are heard before they are seen, but there should be plenty of time to get the photo you want!
For video, there may be a very little background noise from the Steel works but the main non railway sound you will hear will be bird song!
