From the A1(M) Junction 4 take the A414 signposted towards Hertford. Cross over the two roundabouts and the railway and at the next junction turn off and turn right (over the road you have just turned off). Follow this road along till you reach a set of traffic lights (Red Lion pub). Turn left and the station is on this road.
Govia Thameslink operate a frequent service to the station from London Kings Cross, Cambridge and Peterborough.
There is a coffee shop on the platform.
Hatfield station is unusual in that it has three platforms, one southbound and an island serving two northbound tracks. The platforms are staggered so that the north end of the southbound platform is level with the south end of the northbound platform.
