From the M1, Junction 9:
Follow the A5183 to the roundabout at Redbourn. At the roundabout take the first exit (B487) and follow this road into Harpenden. At the roundabout take the third exit (A1081) and head south till the outskirts of St. Albans. Sandridgebury Road is the left turn just before St. Albans Girls School, take this road and continue along it until you pass under the railway.

There is parking for one or two cars just underneath the railway bridge.

Plenty of facilities in the town of St. Albans to the south.

More of a morning shot as by lunchtime the sun has crossed the line. Northbound workings will be backlit by mid morning. There is a fair amout of warning of approching trains in both directions.
There is no access to the west side of the line as this area is private.
