Road directions
The A579 is the main link between the M6 (Junction 22, Winwick) and the A580 (at Lowton Lane Head). The road bridge is about 1/4 mile south of the junction of the A579 with the A572 from Newton Le Willows.
Parking
Very limited (2 or 3 cars) at the bridge. The road is very busy - so be careful not to cause obstructions.
Public transport
Long walk from Newton Le Willows station (about 2.5 miles). Some daytime bus services travel along the A572 between Newton Le Willows and Leigh.
Railway Gen Group
North West Gen
Photographic notes
Best for eastbound trains until late morning. Location may be partly shaded in winter. Westbound photos best in summer evenings, otherwise hope for a brightish day but with the sun hidden by clouds.
