Free public car park in Fairclough Street (see road directions) - except on market day mornings (Monday & Friday), there are usually a number of free spaces here. The small station car park is for rail passengers only.
By rail to the station.
Shops, cafes & take-away food in nearby shopping area.
The east to south curve (Platforms 4 and 5) and the west to south curve (Platform 3) are both sharply curved and it is difficult to include more than 3 to 4 vehicles in photographs. At the west end of Platform 2, the sun is best for photographs of eastbound trains in the morning. On Platform 1, the sun is best for photographs of westbound trains on summer evenings. In the afternoon, better photographs of westbound trains can be obtained from the over bridge located just west of the station. Turn left outside the station, take the second turn left, then turn left onto the bridge.
