Bargoed station is on the A 469 between Caerphilly and Rhymney.
There is road side parking in Bargoed and a small station car park.
There is a generally hourly service from Cardiff to Rhymney with additional peak-hour trains and a 30 minute frequency on Saturdays as far as Bargoed.
There are a few shops in Bargoed.
The light is best here for afternoon trains heading down the valley from either the station footbridge or the end of the platform. There is an interestingly designed signal box and semaphore signals.
