From the M58, Junction 3:
Take the A570 towards Ormskirk for about 1/2 mile. Turn left at the traffic lights by the Stanley Gate pub. Take the second road on the right, after about another 1/2 mile. This road after a couple of miles passes over the station bridge. From Ormskirk take the B5197 towards Kirkby. The road climbs (Prescot Road) and at a set of traffic lights turn left into Long Lane. The station is on the left.

You can park on Long Lane just after the station.

There is a 15 minute rail service from Liverpool City Center. Arriva service 48 passes the station every 30 minutes between Southport and Liverpool.

There are no amenities near the station apart from a small pub a bit further east along Long Lane.

Due to the deep cutting trains are generally in the shade so a bright, cloudy day may be preferred.
