Follow the A565 from Southport or Liverpool.
From Southport you will pass Hillside station on the right, negotiate a roundabout then pass a cemetery on the right. At the next roundabout, turn right down Station Road.
From Liverpool, you will pass RAF Woodvale on the left. Continue straight on at the next 3 sets of traffic lights and you will come to a small green on the left. Turn left at the roundabout immediately afterwards into Station Road.
To reach Kenilworth Road bridge from the station either drive along Chesterfield Road (alongside the station on the east side) and park just before you reach the bridge above you, or head west along Station Road and over the brow of the hill. Turn left at the end and this road takes you over the bridge.
Parking is fairly restricted around the shops and station. There are a few residential roads you could park in or alternatively park near Kenilworth Road bridge which is only a 5 minute walk from the station along Chesterfield Road.
There is a 15 minute rail service from Liverpool City Center.
Arriva services 49/49A operate every 10 minutes from Southport towards Woodvale and cross both Ainsdale station level crossing and Kenilworth Road bridge.
There is a wide range of shops along Station Road. There are two pubs near the roundabout at the east end of Station Road.
Pictures are best for trains heading south towards Liverpool. Kenilworth Road bridge is best until about 1pm.
