From Southport you pass RAF Woodavle on the right. Turn right at the next roundabout. Follow this road until you reach a mini-roundabout by a few shops and go straight on (Piercefield Road). Continue straight over the next Stop Junction (Old Town Lane) and at the next junction turn left (Freshfield Road) then first right (St. Georges Road). The footbridge is in front of you.
From Liverpool, turn left off the A565 at the traffic lights with Tesco’s on the right. Go straight on at the end of this road and straight away there is a roundabout with the Cross Keys pub on the right. Turn right and immediately first left into Duke Street. At the next roundabout (with Formby station bridge in front) turn right into Freshfield Road and take the 5th road on the right which should be St. Georges Road and the footbridge will be in front.
You can park on the road just before the bridge.
There is a 15 minute rail service from Liverpool City Center.
From Freshfield station, turn left (shops on right) then immediately right into Freshfield Road. The road bends round then straightens up. St. Georges Road should be the 3rd road on the right.
The nearest shops are outside Freshfield station. Formby Town Centre is the first right after the roundabout by Formby Station. To reach the nearest pub (which is a nice, popular one), turn left outside Freshfield Station (Victoria Road) and at the next major junction turn left into Gores Lane. The Pub is at the next corner.
Light is best for trains heading south towards Liverpool. There are a lot of trees alongside the line which may cause shadows in low-sun conditions.
