From Liverpool, use the Wallesey Tunnel to access junction 2 of the M53 which then leads to junction 2A. Take the A551 north to Moreton roundabout and turn left onto the A553 towards West Kirby. This road crosses Meols station bridge.
There is a station car park.
In addition to the train service there is a frequent bus service from Birkenhead to Hoylake and West Kirby which passes the station.
There is a parade of shops outside the station including an Off-Licence and a Chip Shop. There is also a large pub about 300 yards west along the main road.
The light is generally best here from about 10.30 for trains heading towards West Kirby. Photos can be taken on the station, from the road bridge or from a small foot crossing about 300 yards west of the station. To reach this, turn right outside the station down the bridge, turn left down a small alley and keep to the left through the houses and alongside the railway.
