Road directions
From the M53, Junction 2:
Follow signs for Hoylake. Keep going into Hoylake along the A540 until you get to a roundabout with a level crossing down the road on the left. Take this left turn and park in the car park on the other side of the crossing. Then walk alongside the railway line for a good 5 minutes until you reach the crossing (next to some signals).
Parking
Hoylake Park and Ride (next to Hoylake station) offers secure parking for free.
Public transport
Get any train to Hoylake.
Then go out of the station towards the industrial areas. Then, follow the path where the sign says 'Public Footpath' (Black and White Post). Follow the path for about 5 minutes until you reach the crossing.
Amenities
Hoylake station has toilets (open on most days). Otherwise try West Kirby or Hoylake Promenade. Hoylake station and Hoylake Town Centre have a selection of restaurants and other facilities.
Accommodation
The are lots of Bed and Breakfasts in the area.

Photographic notes
Light is good at most times of the day. I do suggest though that photographs are taken on the opposite side of the line to the cycleway because of the weeds. The suggested side has a good curve in the tracks, offering some good photo opportunities.
