From the A1:
Take the turning for A1139 and head west. At the 4th junction (after crossing the railway) turn off and follow the A605 towards Whittlesea. Continue along this road and you will soon be out in open countryside. Keep your eyes open for the McCain sign on the left, when you see it take the turn and you will arrive at the location. If you miss it you will come to a railway level crossing, turn around and the turning will be first on you right.

There is parking for a couple of cars just off the road.

About 5-10 minutes walk away on the A605 there is a 'greasy spoon' cafe for truckers. In New Fletton there is a petrol station for light snacks.

Anglia Gen

The primary shot is west facing, as this offers a fairly unrestricted view of eastbound workings. The sun being in good position up till late morning. After that you can move down the dirt track and get a similar shot of westbound workings but this view is a bit more cluttered by the industrial units and brickwork facilities.
Althought the barriers have audible warning sirens these only run when the barriers lower so they give you plenty of notice of approaching trains.
