From the M20 Junction 11 the station is well sign posted.
There is a large railway car park just 50p for all day, also a large amount of free parking alongside the canal.
Access by RH&DR services from along the coast. Southeastern to Folkestone Central then any bus heading towards Hythe around a 10 minute journey or so.
There are toilets and a small gift shop at the station. There is a small café next door and a large number of takeaways etc in the high street about 5/10 mins away along the canal.
Plenty of scope from the platforms showing the turntable and any shunting operations. Also a walk along the canal there is The Gem foot crossing which give good views of trains leaving the station and arriving.
