Amenities
There are no amenities in the immediate area, although there is an inn about 15-20 mins walk north and the main road to Hythe and Dymchurch to the south. In Dymchurch and Hythe, with takeaways, pubs, toilets. The nearest supermarket is Sainsburys at New Romney.
Accommodation
There are plenty of hotels in Hythe, Folkstone, Hastings.
Photographic notes
Trains from both directions are visible before they reach the crossing, especially Dymchurch to Hythe workings. The level crossing will be equipped with half barriers shortly so one photographic angle will be gone, although the fields and car parking area are good vantage points. There is also a bridge over the river on the road 150 yards north of the crossing, which gives a good view of trains passing over the river. The area is suitable for videographers.
The light is generally good throughout the day, although early morning and late afternoon photos can be hampered by the sun during the winter.
