Road directions
If travelling from Dorchester:
Take the A37 west towards Yeovil. Turn right at the Stoford Junction which is approximately 2 to 3 miles before Yeovil. Follow down through the village until you come to the railway bridge and turn right immediately after the bridge.

If travelling from Yeovil:
Take the A37 east towards Dorchester for approx 2 to 3 miles until you cross the London to Exeter railway bridge. Turn left at Stoford Junction which is immediately after this. Follow down through the village until you come to the railway bridge and turn right immediately after the bridge.
Parking
There is a pay and display car park for main line service, and a car park at the railway centre.
Public transport
Main line service to Exeter and London Waterloo. Bus services operate and so do taxis.
Amenities
Their is a cafe and toilets on the main line platform. There is also a visitors centre, shop and light refreshments at the railway centre.

B&Bs and hotels are both found in Yeovil and Stoford.

Photographic notes
Lighting is usually pretty good. To see a train coming through the station from both directions stand at either end of the platform. To see mainline steam being serviced and watered use the railway centre's platform.
