From the city centre follow signs for Gorgie/Haymarket when you reach Haymarket junction take a left and follow this road all the way to the next junction near Gorgie, go straight across and up this road, at the top take a right and stay on this road until the next junction for ASDA and Slateford station will be on the left at this junction.
It is okay but you will have to leave your car at the nearby ASDA or right next to the station.
Lothian buses 4, 34, 35, 44/44A all serve Slateford station as well as services operated by First buses number 44 all lave from the city centre.
All facilities can be found in the ASDA just across the road from the station.
The light is good pretty much all day but after noon some photos/videos can be disrupted by light conditions.
Trains can be shot in both directions, however if it is a suburban line working then it is better to shoot/picture on the opposite platform, the one nearer to ASDA.
The best pictures can be taken at the ends of each platform but the middle near the footbridge is alright as well
