Road directions
From Coleshill (Just off the M6) take the B4117 passing through Gilson (or alternatively take the the B4117 from further up the A446) both routes will lead you directly to Water Orton. Head through the busy village centre, and you will see the station to your right. Turn here so the satation building is on your left, then turn right immediately after crossing the bridge.
Parking
You can park in any of the side roads, making sure that driveways are not blocked. Alternatively, you can park in the car-park next to the station. The nearby pub has a very large carpark round the back, but it in 2007 the pub has changed hands and the land lord does not like 'enthusiats' parking in his car park. He has been quite vocal in his views.
Public transport
There are plenty of buses operating in the area, and many can be observed stopping near the station frequently. These are mainly operated by West Midlands Travel.
Amenities
There is a sandwich shop (Closes at 16:00) and a very nice fish and chip shop in the village. There is a public loo next to the station carpark which you have to pay 30p to use and The Dog Inn is right next to you!
Photos can be taken from both sides of the bridge, and in both directions. The bridge is prone to shaking, so perhaps not ideal for those wishing to take video footage. Trains approaching from the west on the Nuneaton line can be seen some distance away. An advantage at this location are the noisy points. You can easily here them when they change, thus letting you know when something is due on the Leicester line!
