Photographic notes
Rugby Station is undergoing a redevelopment at the moment. This page will be updated with new text shortly.
The line runs roughly west to east. The station platforms are arranged in a ‘H’ formation with 4 bay platforms and 2 through platforms. The bays usually house the local ‘Thunderbird’ Rescue locomotives. On the south side is the Brimingham (north) bound platform and the west side is the London (south) bound platform. The station is host to a DB Schenker and Freightliner crew office and passing freights often stop in the platforms for a crew change.

The line runs roughly west to east. With this in mind the morning the sun is quite well positioned, only being obtrusive shoting for southbound trains heading away from the camera. Conversely in the evening it is poor for northbound departures. The platforms themselves are quite wide and have a slight curve in the centre, this combined with the platforms canopy can prove quite eye leading.

All Birmingham / Wolverhampton services (via Coventry), now use Platform 1 (i.e. the new platform). VT services tend to pull right up to the end of 1
