Road directions
From the A3(M), Junction 5 - A27 Junction: Take the B2177 towards Bedhampton and Havant. Head straight on at the roundabout and the crossroads with the B2150. You will pass a car sales showroom on the left, then the turning for the station (you can see the level crossing). Staunton Road is the next turning on the right, take it and drive down to the footbridge.
Parking
As this is a dead-end you can park at the foot of the bridge.
Public transport
Bedhampton is served by the hourly SWT Portsmouth Harbour - London Waterloo stopping service and the hourly Southern Portsmouth Harbour - Brighton stopping service. Connections into these services can be obtained from almost anywhere by changing at Havant. From the Eastbound platform exit the station, (from the Westbound platform cross via the footbridge or level crossing). Cross the road and head east parallel to the railway line. Staunton Road is the first turning on the right, take it and walk up to the footbridge. Alternatively the Stagecoach Number 21 and Number 23 buses to/from Portsmouth/Havant stop on the Bedhampton Road, almost opposite Staunton Road.
Amenities
There are a few shops if you walk back along the road in the direction of the station. Alternativley a short walk (5-10 minutes) or a 2 minute train journey will take you into Havant where there is the usual assortment of shops and eateries.
This location is a 'cloudy day, wrong side' shot only. The bridge is on a tight curve, just outside Bedhampton station with high trees on the south-east side. The location is best for westbound trains, although something of a shot is possible for eastbound traffic. The bridge has long ramped approaches (and low, open sides!) so a variety of heights and angles are possible. Video would be good at this location, so long as you are on your toes and get your camera turned on quick enough, the station barriers going down will provide some warning of approaching trains, but those not stopping at Bedhampton are usually shifting some!
