Barrows Green Road links the A562 and A5080 roads about 1.5 miles NE of Widnes town centre. From the M62, use exit 7 and take the A557 towards Widnes. Take the A5080 exit from this road and follow the signs for Warrington. Barrows Green Road in on the right after about ¼ mile. From Warrington, head west on the A562 then head onto the A5080. Barrows Green Road is on the left, about ½ mile after passing under the railway bridge over the A5080. From Runcorn and Widnes, take the A557 then the A562 towards Warrington, joining Barrows Green Road at a roundabout about 1½ miles from Widnes town centre.
There is a small car park in a Woodland Park on the east side of Barrows Green Road.
It is a long, indirect walk from Widnes station - use of a streetmap is recommended. (Not tested, but probably about 30 minutes).
Halton Transport runs some buses between Widnes town centre (Market) and Barrows Green Road.

The main facilities are in Widnes town centre, but some small shops may be found in nearby housing areas.
The sun is best placed for eastbound trains in the morning and westbound trains in the afternoon. Trees shade parts of the cutting on the west side of the bridge, especially in winter when the sun is low in the sky.
