Road directions
From the M3, Junction 7:
Follow the A30 south to the North Waltham turning (4th left, about 2 or 3 miles) and once through North Waltham Village follow the signposts for Steventon Village.
Parking
Parking is quite tight at the bottom of the footpath, with space for about 1 car. You may end up walking the extra few hundred yards from the village its self.
Amenities
Nothing in the immediate area, the village has a few 'local' shops.
Railway Gen Group
Wessex Rail Gen [WRGen]
Photographic notes
This is a foot crossing and clearances are quite tight, at most there is room for 3 or 4 photographers at the location. Steps would be handy but given the steep nature of the path up to the crossing perhaps unsuitable.
The line coming from Basingstoke (looking north east) is cut through a forest of trees and as such will be in shade all day.
Coming from Southampton (looking south west) can be favourable for a large part of the morning.
Locations Within 5 miles
