New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
Located next to the lovely Kent Coast cliffs, on the line between Folkestone and Dover Priory.
Railway type and traffic
Frequent Southeastern Electrostar services, although departmental trains can appear from time to time.
Environment
A small and overgrown patch of grass overlooking the exit of Martello tunnel. It feels quite remote, but it is just next door to a residential area.
Road directions
It is located next to a street called Wear Bay Road, which itself is just off the A260 Hill Road.

Parking
It is a residential area, so it should not be a big problem to park it in a side street for an hour or so. No idea if a permit scheme applies, so check signage before parking.
Public transport
A bus service runs along Wear Bay Road, but unsure of the frequency. The location is around 2 miles on foot from Folkestone Central station, a bit less from the bus station.

Amenities
There are no amenities in the immediate area, but Folkestone town centre is about a mile from the location.
Accommodation
There are quite a few hotels and B&Bs in Folkestone.

Photographic notes
The place faces East North East, so it is a good place for early afternoons, but not mornings. A longer lens would be advisable, but not essential.
