New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
Minster is a quiet Kent village on the Canterbury-Ramsgate line. It is not far from Manston airport.
Railway type and traffic
Most traffic is Class 375 units on Charring Cross - Ramsgate/Margate services. There are also less frequent services which take the line down to Dover from here.
Environment
This is a quiet crossing on the outskirts of the village.
Road directions
From Manston, take the B2050 west. After passing the airport to your left, take the B2190 which will lead you to Minster. Head towards the station which is at the bottom of the village. However, do not take this turn, taking instead the next right after you see the signpost. (This right hand turn is right by the level crossing next to the station) Follow this road (You should have houses to your right, and horse stables etc to you left) and you should shortly come to a crossing which leads to the Scout hut on the other side of the tracks.

Photographic notes
On sunny days, this location is best for east bound trains up until about lunchtime. Trains travelling in the opposite direction are best photographed from early afternoon. This location would be suited to those wishing to take video, as it is generally very quiet here.
