A good view of approaching northbound trains and a reasonable view of southbound trains (for a better view see Apex Corner - Southbound) Your angle of views is limited on one side by the bank (Fig 2). With this in mind the location favours morning.
Extra video notes
Although the location looks good the line runs parallel to the M1 motorway, traffic noise makes the location pretty much unusable unless you are shooting silent movies or post dubbing the audio.
General views - All photographs © Albert Dawson unless otherwise stated
Fig 1 - Looking south
The better angle of this location is from the side.
Fig 2 - Looking south
Although space betewwn the OLE means that near head on shots can be obtained with out the wires in shot.
Fig 3 - Looking south
Slightly different angle from Fig 1, looking further along the line.
Fig 4 - Looking North
As with the Northbound location the shot opposite is reasonable. This view shows a unit passing between the two locations.
Fig 5 - Looking north
Same direction as Fig 4 but from the opposite side of the tracks.
