Road directions
From Stamford follow the A16 towards Market Deeping and Tallington is about 10 minutes from Stamford. Expect a lot of traffic on the A16 so often can be more then 10 minute drive from Stamford. From Market Deeping follow the A16 to Stamford Tallington is about 2 - 3 miles down the road.
Parking
There is a pub opposite the crossing called 'The Whistle Stop' with a car park. Or you can use the petrol station car park.
Public transport
There is a two hourly bus service to and from Stamford Bus station, this is is route 203 operated by Delaine Buses.
Amenities
There are no public toilets. There is a petrol station with a shop which has a wide range of drinks, food and news papers or ,if you like a cooked lunch, there is a pub opposite the fuelling station.
Accommodation
There is no known accommodation facilities within Tallington.
When shooting in the morning in sun its best to shoot north on the down side of the track. After midday best to shoot south on the down side of the tracks. There is a bridge at the crossing so its strongly advisable to use the bridge for photos.
For videos this is a great location for trains at speed, with workings sounding their horns on the approach to the southern foot crossing.
