From Stamford on the A1, head east on the A16 following signs for Spalding. When you come across the village of Tallington, you need to look for a turning on the right hand side. (Tallington Road) This will lead you to the level crossing.
Park on the road side either side of the crossing.
There is nothing at the location itself, but nearby Tallington has a couple of useful shops and a good inn.
The line runs pretty much east to west here, and as such, shots of eastbound trains are best up to about lunchtime, after which the location is of no use unless it is a dull day.
West bound shots can not really be had here, due to large bushes on one side of the line, and the cottage on the other. However, this would be a nice little spot for those who may wish to take video.
