From Stamford on the A1, head east on the A16 following signs for Spalding. You will shortly reach Uffington village which you need to pass through. As you do so, the main road bends sharply to the left, but you should notice a right hand turn (appears straight ahead) to Barncak. Take this road which will lead you to the level crossing.
You will need to park safely by the roadside. Please do not block the entrance or driveway to the cottage.
There is nothing at the location itself, but nearby Tallington has a couple of useful shops and a good inn.
The line runs pretty much east to west here, and as such, shots of eastbound trains are best up to about lunchtime, after which the location becomes favourable for westbound workings.
There is a 'farmers' crossing where shots can be taken to the east, otherwise steps are recommended in the summer months to get elevation above the tall line side growth.
