Turn right into Mill Road off Elsden Road mini-roundabout this is a narrow road with cars parked on both sides of the road.
For visitors arriving by train it is only a 5 minute walk from the station to this location via a footpath.
Park on the left hand (north east) side, just after the bridge.
The bridge is a short walk from Wellingborough station.
There is a corner shop/newsagents opposite the roundabout into Mill Road.
Southbound shots only in the morning. In the afternoon the former steam shed provides an interesting background for afternoon shots.
Northbound from about 4pm onwards shots are OK provided the train is on the slow line, it is tight and can have shadow problems on the mainline. The station provides a good backdrop for northbound shots.
Update 2015:This shot is soon set to change as the introduction of a new housing development
Stanton Cross will see Midland Road (the station car park on the west of the station) extended and a road bridge over the railway line that will link the town centre to the new transport hub, which includes a new railway station, bus stops, a taxi rank and car parking. Once this is complete is is expected that the Mill road bridge, this location, will be demolished.
