The location is on the A45.
On the eastbound carriage way, just before the green exit sign for junction 16 - Rushden and Irchester, there is a lay by with a turning into a field. Park in, but do not obstruct, this field gateway.
If you miss this then you will need to turn round at junction 16 and either park up along Chester Road which is the first left after re crossing the railway. Or continue back along the A45 to the next junction turn round and have another go
The nearest bus service is
Stagecoaches X46 which operates every 30 minutes between Northampton, Wellingborough and Irchester. The bus stops in the village from where it is a 15-20 minute walk to the bridge.
Good views of line sweeping through country side over viaducts can be had here. Slows/Sharnbrook summit avoiding line is on a higher level viaduct. There is plenty of notice of south bound workings. But no real opportunity to photograph northbound as you would have a very busy dual carriage way (A45) to cross. Other views of the viaducts are available from the fields down from the main parking spot.
