Road directions
You can reach this location by continuing on the footpath as mentioned in TS842, but this path is currently in a very poor condition, and during my last visit was very boggy, despite it being warm and dry!
From the station, head west along Railway Avenue. At the end, turn left down Cromwell Road and follow this road to the end. Turn left here, pass under the railway bridge, and continue on the A290. When this road starts to bend to the right, turn right into Joy Lane and follow to the public footpath sign which is roughly opposite Meteor Avenue. Please note that this footpath does not appear on several maps, but it does exist!
Parking
Park considerately along Joy Lane, or one of the other surrounding streets.
Amenities
There is nothing at the location itself, but Whitstable has lots of lovely pubs and shops. There is also a good fish market in Whitstable where, amongst other things, you can pick up fresh cockles if they take your fancy!
Accommodation
There are dozens of Bed and Breakfasts in the area, particularly nearer to the town centre.
Shots of east bound trains are best until late morning, after which it is best for west bound trains. Recent tree/bush cutting has taken place here, but an annoying little tree remains to the west of the footbridge which interferes with westbound workings somewhat, but can be avoided with a shot which is more head-on than the preffered westbound shot. This location would be ideal for video footage.
