From Chestfield and Swalecliffe station, head Northeast on St.Johns Rd (B2205) and as you approach the caravan park, the road bears right (Colwood Road) Follow this road, and you will soon see some industrial units on your right (St Augustiens Business park) You may want try and park in here somewhere if you can, as roadside parking around here can be dangerous due to the winding roads.... However, if you want to park closer to the location, keep following the road as it bends sharply to the left, and sharply again to the right. Just as the road starts yet another left hand bend, you should notice a spot to park straight opposite..... (Unless it is taken up by yet another burnt out car!) Take the track to the railway bridge which is the location.
See the road directions.
Nothing at the location itself, but there are some shops close to the train station. Whitstable itself has lots of lovely pubs and shops. There is also a good fish market in Whitstable where, amongst other things, you can pick up fresh cockles if they take your fancy!!
The best shot here is of eastbound trains which can be taken until lunchtime. Shots of westbound trains are more difficult due to the overgrown nature of the area. However, the location would make for interesting video as the trains can be seen from a considerable distance away, although the nearby A2990 is normally quite noisy.
