Road directions
From the station, head west along Railway Avenue. At the end, turn left down Cromwell Road and follow this road to the end. Turn left here, and almost immediately take the next right which is Clifton Road. Follow this until the road bends to the right and you will notice a foot crossing on your left. This crossing is one of your options at this location. To get to the footbridge, follow the road around the bend, and then turn left down West Cliff and find somewhere to park. The public footpath continues west at the bottom of the street, and is only a short walk.

Amenities
Nothing at the location itself, but Whitstable has lots of lovely pubs and shops. There is also a good fish market in Whitstable where, amongst other things, you can pick up fresh cockles if they take your fancy!
Accommodation
There are dozens of Bed and Breakfasts in the immediate area.
Shots of east bound trains are best until late morning, after which it is best for west bound trains. If you cross the footbridge and continue walking west, you will shortly arrive at another footbridge. This used to offer a good morning shot with the coastline in the background, and also an early afternoon shot with the golf course in the background. The the current status of this shot vs. vegetation is unknown.
