Head to Gateshead to park then head along the A184 on foot.
There are several parking areas in the town centre which is a short walk away.
The location is a short walk from Gateshead town centre which is well served by buses and Metro. Take the subway under Gateshead Highway at the bottom of Charles Street then follow the A184 for a short distance past Union Electric Steel to the bridge over the railway.
There are variety of shops, cafes and pubs in Gateshead Town Centre. There's also a McDonalds further east along the A184.
The shot is of trains heading towards Sunderland, as the view in the other direction is tree lined. The line is travelling south east at this point, but there are shots available from both sides of passing trains.
There is no shot available in the other direction.
The location is on a dual carriageway, so it can be very noisy.
