There is a small car park at the end of Cordys Lane or residential streets if approaching from the west.
The line is a quite steep gradient coming out of the docks and heading up towards Trimley and given the curvature of the line it is possible to get an American shot of the front of the train with the back of the train behind it.
For video the trains will coast down the bank, so will only really make flange squealing noises but that aside you have the distant noise of the docks to add to the ambience.
Building work has commenced on some industrial units to the west of the location - see Fig 7.
Update August 2013: Vegitation is now making the wider shots difficult. Fig 1 and 7 will be almost impossible outside of winter.
