From the A14 heading towards Felixstowe:
Come off at the Trimley junction (signposted Trimley / Kirton). At the roundabout turn left along High Road and the station, on Station Road, is signposted. Continue along Cordys lane till you reach a parking area. Continuing on foot walk down the bridleway for about 1/4 mile. Turn left and follow the footpath (right, then left) and the path will take you to the foot crossing.

From Rendlesham Road:
Navigating to postcode - IP11 2YP - you will find a parking area at the end of the road, or park considerately close by, From here a foot path takes you on a metal bridge over the A14. Continue straight along the foot path and you will enter some woods and the path will go down hill. At the bottom of the hill the path 'dog legs' left and then climbs back up through more woods. At the top of the path is the crossing.

Both walks are about 1/2 mile.

There is a small car park at the end of Cordys Lane or residential streets if approaching from the west.

The line is a quite steep gradient coming out of the docks and heading up towards Trimley and given the curvature of the line it is possible to get an American shot of the front of the train with the back of the train behind it.
For video the trains will coast down the bank, so will only really make flange squealing noises but that aside you have the distant noise of the docks to add to the ambience.

Building work has commenced on some industrial units to the west of the location - see Fig 7.
Update August 2013: Vegitation is now making the wider shots difficult. Fig 1 and 7 will be almost impossible outside of winter.
