Very safe to leave your car, majority of traffic on the quiet lanes is farm machinery.
Train from Ipswich to Felixstowe leaves Ipswich at 26 minutes past the hour, arriving at Trmley at 46 minutes past the hour
Come out of Trimley station and turn left, once onto the road (Cordy's Lane), turn right and walk down the road until you reach a T-Junction onto High Road. From here, turn left and the bus stop is a short walk. Bus numbers are 75, 75A, 76 and 77, these serivces are regular on weekdays and the stop for Grimston Lane is the nearby Public House:
The Hand in Hand. The location is a short walk away off the main road.
Local post office situated between this location and Trimley station on High Road. Local pub,
The Hand in Hand is good.
None in Trimley, but there will be plenty in Felixstowe.
Light is generally good from 10:00 onwards, sun is perfect for trains heading to Felixstowe from 11:30- 14/15:00, view towards Felixstowe is somewhat shelter by the old crossing keepers house and trees/foliage etc.
Shots of trains heading towards Ipswich are possible from the foot crossing situated approximately 50 yards east of the Level Crossing, but sadly not possible for trains heading to Felixstowe.
Good location for videographers, although the barriers do go down late so you do not get much warning, this is not a problem for trains heading towards Ipswich as there are several whistle boards before this location so trains are audible before visible.
Although the Trimley RTT page shows all workings on the branch you can simply list workings in one direction only by looking at:
