Road directions
If driving from Biggleswade town centre, at the mini roundabout at the western end of the High Street take the A6001 signed for Langford and Henlow. Follow road round left-hand bend to traffic lights at junction with Hitchin Street and turn right. If arriving at Biggleswade station by train, exit the station and walk along Saffron Road to the traffic lights and turn left.
Follow the A6001 over two small roundabouts and underneath the A1. Take the second turning on the left, a narrow gravel road signed Sheep Walk. This road is an access road to two private residences so best to keep the noise and speed down. After approx 600m you will come to the railway at a manually gated crossing.
Parking
To the west of the line there is a small area for turning cars next to a local residence but it would be better to park on the east side pulling off the 'road' enough to allow other vehicles to pass.
Public transport
None to the location. Take the train to Biggleswade Station and it's a couple of miles by foot.
Amenities
None at the location. There are some services at Baldock, a few miles to the south on the A1 or in Biggleswade town.
The nearby village of Stotfold has a decent fish and chip shop. Charles Fish and Chips, 9 Regent Street, Stotfold. Comes highly recommended - mention Trainspots and get a Free can of drink with every meal over £2.50!

Photographic notes
The location is based around a level crossing. You have access to both sides of the lines, so getting the sun on the right side is not a problem. The crossing it self is a manual affair with a green or red light telling you if it is safe to cross, there is no audible warning to hamper videos. The light also gives you a good minutes notice of something approaching. From the 'road' you can walk back to the east and get a more side on shot if you prefer. This is not possible from the west. The line is straight for a few miles to the north and about a mile to the south.
