From the M180, Junction 5:
Take the A18 east towards Grimsby. After about a mile you pass through a small hamlet called Melton Ross. Turn right immediately after towards New Barnetby.

There is space to park your car in front of the houses before the crossing.

The nearest station is Barnetby about 2 miles away. There is a footpath that runs parallel to the railway, though an easier, though longer, walk would be to turn left out of the station drive then turn right and follow the A18 to Melton Ross, turning left to New Barnetby.

There are no facilities in the immediate area.

The light is best here in the morning for trains from the west heading towards Immingham and Cleethorpes and in the afternoon for trains heading west. Most westbound trains use the centre track, viewing angles for trains on the Up Goods are more restricted due to trees.
