If heading east along the M9 from the Glasgow/Falkirk direction, you will need to leave at junction 2 and head back west to junction 3, as both junctions lead from only one direction. From junction 3, turn left at the top of the slip road onto the A803 and take the next road on the left which leads you past the golf range to the bridge.
You can park on the verge to the south of the bridge nearer the farm.
E&M Horsburgh's bus service 274 operates hourly between Linlithgow and Livingston and crosses the bridge.
There are no amenities in the area.
The light here is good at all times of the day, in the morning for trains heading east and in the afternoon heading from Edinburgh, though at dinner time it will be side on.
The view both ways is good, though there is a large tree on the west side of the bridge which can either be a feature or a hindrance.
You can descend the bank on the west side of the bridge to be nearer the line. Providing you do not trespass on the field itself it is unlikely anyone will bother you here.
