The platform is the obvious place for photographs, both on the main track, and the bay, which is used for static exhibits.
From the West end of the platform, you are opposite the signal box, and you can see down the line to Birkhill, and back into the station and yard behind it. From the East end, which is darker as you are near the buildings, you can see a little more of the yard if you look north, and also westwards through the station. The footbridge will give you a view of the entire area, and you can get some nice angles from both the north and south, at the bottom of the steps on either side of the line. You can also get close to the line behind the south steps of the bridge, for good shots of trains pulling away and passing. From the car park, you can get some nice shots of the exhibit in the bay platform, looking both east and west.
